Global Ice Age coming with 4-D SimEx-Iwerks experience

Attractions across the globe are preparing for the onset of a new Ice Age, with a 4-D theatrical experience based on the popular film franchise set to hit screens this summer.

SimEx-Iwerks Entertainment has partnered with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products to create the film experience, 'Ice Age: No Time for Nuts 4-D'. It will premiere at Central Park Zoo in New York City and Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, before heading to San Diego Zoo, Pittsburgh's Kennywood amusement park, the UK's Alton Towers, Italy's Gardaland Park, and Madame Tussauds Shanghai.

The nine-minute film features new footage and content, turning the 2007 short film of the same name into an extended fully immersive experience in which manic sabre-toothed squirrel Scrat is “pulled into an epic odyssey in time-travel" in which he chases an acorn accidentally lost in time.

“This newly enhanced 4-D adventure underscores the global success of the Ice Age franchise, which continues to dominate as a fan favourite," said Greg Lombardo, Fox Consumer Products' senior vice president, global live & location based entertainment.

“The quality of this experience will set a new benchmark for the industry and is sure to build anticipation for the release of Ice Age 5 in July 2016." - See more at:
